This panorama was created from the magnificent Mangrove Resort Hotel. 

The view sweeps from Dampier Creek, passed Buccaneer Rock, over Roebuck Bay and around to a view of the Hotel itself.

The Staircase to the Moon is a phenomenon where the rising moon reflects on the mud flats at low tide to give the impression of moonlit stairs. Check out Broome's Calendar of Events to find out the date of the next staircase.

Broome legend has it that Buccaneer explorer, William Dampier, came to the present town anchorage in 1688 with his ship the "Roebuck". He landed a treasure chest of pirated pieces of eight and buried it at Buccaneer Rock. The Rock is located At the entrance to Dampier Creek in Roebuck Bay opposite the Mangrove Resort Hotel
